Specialty Custom Upholstery
Custom Upholstery for the Projects That Don't Fit in a Category
Not every upholstery project is a sofa, car seat, or boat cushion.
At Marcos Best Upholstery, some of the most interesting projects that come through our shop are the unusual ones. From golf cart seats and custom dashboards to specialty seating and one-of-a-kind upholstered pieces, we can repair, restore, recover, and customize a wide variety of items.
If you have something that needs upholstery and aren’t sure who to call, bring it by our Santa Ana shop or send us a photo. We’d be happy to take a look and let you know what we can do.
If It Can Be Upholstered, Ask Us
Our experience working with automotive, marine, furniture, vinyl, leather, foam, and custom fabrication allows us to take on projects that don’t necessarily fall into a traditional upholstery category.
Specialty projects may include:

- Equipment seats
- Custom cushions
- Padded wall and interior panels
- Unique or one-of-a-kind upholstered items
Don’t see your project listed? Ask us. Every project is different, and we’re always willing to take a look.
Golf Cart Upholstery
Give Your Golf Cart a Custom Look
New upholstery is one of the easiest ways to dramatically change the appearance of a golf cart.
Whether your existing seats are faded, cracked, torn, or simply outdated, we can recover them with fresh materials and create a look that complements the cart.
Choose from different colors, textures, patterns, piping, stitching, and contrasting panels for anything from a clean factory-style appearance to a completely custom design.
Dashboard & Interior Panel Upholstery
Dashboards, consoles, door panels, armrests, and other interior components can become cracked, faded, damaged, or outdated over time.
Depending on the item and its condition, we may be able to repair or recover it using vinyl, leather, fabric, foam, or other appropriate upholstery materials.
This can be particularly useful for classic and custom vehicles where original replacement pieces may be difficult to find—or where you’re creating an interior that was never available from the factory.
Custom Foam & Cushions
Sometimes the upholstery isn’t the only problem.
We can work with foam and cushioning to help restore the shape, support, and comfort of many upholstered items. For custom projects, foam can also be shaped to create seating and cushions for applications where an off-the-shelf replacement simply doesn’t exist.
Once the shape is right, the piece can be covered in a material selected for its intended use and desired appearance.
Leather, Vinyl, Fabric & More
Different projects require different materials.
Something exposed to sun and moisture has very different requirements from an upholstered piece used indoors. Likewise, a heavily used seat may need a different material than a decorative panel.
We’ll help you consider options based on the item’s use, environment, durability requirements, comfort, and appearance.
Available options may include leather, vinyl, marine-grade materials, upholstery fabrics, foam, contrasting inserts, decorative stitching, piping, and other specialty materials.
One-of-a-Kind Custom Projects
Have an Idea? Show Us.
Sometimes you’re not looking to restore something—you want to create something entirely different.
That’s where custom upholstery gets interesting.
If you’re building a custom vehicle, restoring an unusual piece, modifying specialty equipment, or have an idea that requires custom upholstery work, talk to us about it.
Bring the item to the shop, or send us photos of the project so we can get a better idea of what you have in mind.
